After a long day of rum and chocolate tasting or hiking to waterfalls or touring historical plantations, the “Sunset Getaway Tour” allows guests to lounge in relaxing chairs by ending the day with the gorgeous views of the Grenadian sunset filled with a picturesque mixture of red, yellow, and orange colors.
These sunsets can be enjoyed at one of the many amazing lookout points in the southern part of island in the parish of St. George’s. Guests can pick from one of the three locations to sip on a complimentary bottle of champagne or wine:
- Fort Frederick (Richmond Hill, St. George): Fort Frederick, construction began by the French in 1779 and finished by the English in 1783, is truly a glimpse back in time as this stone fort was a strategic for the colonizers to have a 360-degree view of the town of St. George’s, The Carenage, Grand Anse Beach, and country roads.
- Fort George (St. George’s, St. George): Fort George is located directly next to The Carenage, the Caribbean region’s famous harbor. Fort George was built from 1706-1710 by the French colonizers and was well positioned to look out for oncoming British ships. The fort still has centuries old cannons, and the area is currently used by the Royal Grenadian Police Force.
- Grand Anse Beach (Grand Anse, St. George): This world-famous beach stretches over two miles filled with white, soft sand and crystal blue calm waters. Beach chairs with cushions and umbrellas are offered to soak up the salty water breeze with views of the horizon, sail, and fishing boats. Grand Anse Beach also hosts many snorkeling and scuba shops attached to the various hotels. We can organize day or night trips with one of these scuba shops to explore the underwater beauties of coral, fishes and wildlife surrounding the shores of Grenada.
